Abu Nasr Al-Farabi

Abu Nasr Al-Farabi

His name is and will continue to be taken with great respect by all. The light of his own lamp has gone out, but the light of the lamp of knowledge that he lit will never go out.
There is a city in Turkestan called "Farab"! A long time ago, in a neighborhood of this city, there lived a very poor boy who was very eager to acquire knowledge. During the day, he would go to his teacher and study, and when night came, he would remember the lesson he had learned that day and would not sleep until he had completely memorized it.

A clay lamp would burn at the head of her bed. In the light of that lamp, she would read the entire book until two in the morning, and sometimes she would spend the entire night reading.
One night, he was sitting on his bed, reading a book with full attention and concentration, when the light from the lamp began to dim. He raised the lamp higher, and the light certainly came on, but it soon went out.
Now that he looked at the lamp, he was very sad to see that there was no oil in the lamp. If there was light, why bother? What should I do now? He thought to himself. It was almost midnight.
The shops in the city were closed, and even if they had been open, it would have been of no use to the boy because he did not even have money to buy oil. Without money, which shopkeeper could give him oil?
In this situation, it would have been better for him to put the book aside and go to sleep, but he still had two more hours to read. How could he waste these two hours, and then how could he have enough for the next day?
He would go to a mosque to eat his bread, and with the money he earned by tutoring a local child, he would buy himself modest clothes and oil, but he had already spent all the money he had recently received.
He was very worried about the lamp going out like this. He came out of his cell and sat at the door. The darkness of the night was spread everywhere; no lamp was visible anywhere, and everyone was resting.
Meanwhile, his eyes fell on a tiny line of light, perhaps visible on a distant wall. As soon as he saw it, he felt a longing in his heart that this light was in his house.
Seeing the light, he sat up and started walking towards the light to find out where it was coming from. He had brought his book with him so that if he got a chance, he could read the rest of the book in that light.
He should read the part and then come back. After going some distance, he saw that the light was coming from a lamp that was in the hands of the neighborhood watchman. He said to the watchman with great respect.

If you allow me to read the book in the light of Qandeel? The watchman was a good man; he understood that this is a poor student who does not have money to buy oil. he said. Yes, son! Read it. I'll sit here for a while! The boy read the book. Now the problem was that the watchman could not sit in one place for a long time That's why he said that.
Now you go home and sleep; I have to go on. The boy said. You go ahead; I'll follow you wherever you want. The watchman picked up the candle and began to walk forward, and the boy followed behind! He had great difficulty in studying this way, but he did not give up. He studied until four o'clock and then went home, thanking the watchman. The same thing happened the second night.
On the third night, the boy came and said to the watchman. Take this candle to your home; I have brought a new candle. When the boy heard these words, he was so happy, as if he had found a great treasure. He brought Qandeel to his room and started doing his work with satisfaction. After a few days, when he got the money, he bought oil from the market and put it in the pit. A few days passed, and then a few years. The boy was young.
As he grew older, his knowledge also grew, and then one day it came that he became the greatest teacher of his time. Great scholars came to him from far and wide and gained knowledge from him. It became a river of knowledge from which those thirsty for knowledge quenched their thirst.
You know, baby! Who was this boy? It was Abu Nasr Farabi! Several hundred years have passed since the death of this great Muslim philosopher and scientist of Persia (Iran), but his honor and glory have not changed. His name is and will continue to be held in high regard by all. The light of one's own giving has perished, but the light of knowledge that he has kindled will never perish.
